And I was very surprised to see comments about my performance......
Of course, it is always very satisfying for a dancer to read good critics/comments about their performances. Especially when we don't get as much corrections/comments from our teachers/ ballet masters when we are professionals than when we are students. When I saw this I felt surprised and very happy, of course.
However, I may be replacing the injured second cast dancer this afternoon in this ballet, and apart from the performance of this afternoon I will still have one more scheduled performance. Having read some positive critics certainly gave me some more pressure for the coming performances.
In the past two shows, I realized how a relaxed mindset helped me to perform better. I start to feel as if the better I want to dance, the worse I would then perform. A care-free attitude seems to let me perform at my best. Having read those critics would certainly make me want to prove even more to the audience, and to the company. I will have to control this desire and to just enjoy my time dancing alone on the stage of Palais Garnier, which is extremely rare and precious to me. I hope I could manage to think this way this afternoon.
