Yes, it has been a strange week at the Opera. I didn't have any official rehearsals this week, so I have only been taking classes in the morning and working on my body in the afternoon. It has been a long time since I last had a free week like this. However, I enjoyed it somehow. I was not too tired by the rehearsals and had extra time to work on my weaknesses. Even though I was free in the afternoons, I decided to stay at the Opera. This forced me not to waste my time in my apartment and to keep my body fit and ready. Tomorrow, we will depart for Cohars very early in the morning. This gala would take us the whole weekend because it takes a long time to travel over Cohars. With the company 3e etage, once again we are going to perform the program called "Desordres" that I used to do with them. I look forward to it, each time it is fun travelling to a new place and performing in a new theatre. Before yesterday, I watched the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet at Opera Bastille. It was interesting for me to see it now that I watched Roland Petit's Carmen (ballet). The musique was divine! I enjoyed it so much and it could inspire me for Don Quixote, a famous spanish ballet that I am going to perform in coming May in a school gala. Nevertheless, I found the story of Carmen less inspiring/ less touching than some other operas'. It was tragic but a bit too violent to my taste. I love tragedies especially when it is sad and subtle at the same time. The sets are modern and there were at least 8 real cars on stage during the second act. One shocking moment of this staging was in the beginning of Act III, when a man came onto the stage and got undressed completely! The audience was no so keen on this idea and showed dislike. I was so happy to finally see it though! Now I am singing "Toreador~ Toreador~....." in my head all the time!
