Then I was on vacation! I waited for that day for so long. With my parents and my sister we went to Angers, a small city in France not too far from Paris. My colleagues and friends were very unsure about this unpopular touristic destination - Angers. I chose this city because I wanted an authentic and stress-free place. And it turned out to be a perfect choice. There were very few tourists in Angers and yet this place is so charming. We had a very relaxing and nice stay there.
This year, on the day of the last performance of the season 2016-2017, my parents arrived Paris and came into the beautiful Palais Garnier for the first time and watched the performance. It was a shame that I only performed in a small role, my part was no longer than 2 minutes. But I guess my parents would at least be interested in discovering the place in which I work. Then I was on vacation! I waited for that day for so long. With my parents and my sister we went to Angers, a small city in France not too far from Paris. And it turned out to be a perfect choice. There were very few tourists in Angers and yet this place is so charming. We had a very relaxing and nice stay there. The difficult moment came after this short stay in Angers. I had to leave my family and return to Paris to prepare for a two-days gala performance in Perigueux (another small city more towards the South of France, but a more touristic place). My family moved on in their visit and went to Bordeaux, then Toulouse. It would be fantastic if they could watch my gala performance. But it was very complicated as there were no trains in Perigueux at night time...... There was a moment when I regretted to have accepted this gala. Family time seems especially rare and precious for me now. But this gala in Perigueux turned out to be very good and worth-doing. Some pieces that I did in that gala were new pieces choreographed for me. For the first time I had to speak on stage, in French then in Mandarin, and for the first time I performed something very difficult technically but comic at the same time. I enjoyed these two performances very much because I felt the connection with the audience, especially when I made them laugh. And of course, the fact that these new pieces were successful and that the audience enjoyed it made me overjoyed. After this Perigueux trip, the real holiday started for me. I joined my family in Lyon, where my sister just graduated. We had some really nice moments together. After one year of hard work it is especially rewarding to be on vacation. It is hard to think of the last day of this summer break and another year of work and challenges ahead. But fortunately I will start studying again in September. This may seem even more stressful but I find it stimulating. And of course, I know that the Paris Opera still reserves so many wonders for me to behold.

When you left for the gala, I thought you separated from your family's trip for good. I'm glad you joined with them again later. Congratulations on your sister's graduation.
