After the coaching, it was then 13:40. I had sometime before the rehearsals start at the Opera. I was hungry, and I went to a random nearby Japanese restaurant for lunch. At the end of the meal, before my last bite of some chicken, some memory suddenly came up to my mind......
When I was still a ballet student in Hong Kong, my aunt Ann would come to my ballet studio in North Point after work and have dinner then go home with me. At that time, there was a fine Japanese restaurant just next to the North Point underground station, I was so happy to have a nice dinner there after some intense work in dancing. What I remember this salted roasted chicken wings from this restaurant. We loved putting some lemon juice over the chicken wings and they tasted heavenly.......
Now that Japanese restaurant is no longer there, replaced by a chain bakery (or is the bakery still there actually?), and Ann’s no longer with us...
How time flies! Ann used to come to this district in La Défense occasionally for work too. And before I came to France, on a trip to Paris she took many photos of this area around the Paris Opera School and showed me the photos before I left Hong Kong.
Those were some good times! Okay, enough talking, time to go back to the Opera.
