A thought of my mother~
Since I was very young, my mother cared a lot about our health. I was an active (and kind of naughty actually!) boy, but I didn't have a favorite sport. My parents first discovered my musical talent. When I was in kindergarten, I could play the songs that we sang in class even though I hadn't learnt piano yet. I started learning piano when I was five years old. After two years, my mother wanted me to combine my musical talent with a physical activity. Dancing came to her mind. Since I was a lot more flexible than my sister, my mother took me to a ballet trial class.
Girls, girls and girls!!!~
That day, I had no idea what I was going to do. My mother just took me out, I thought we were just out for a walk! I was seven years old. Then we stopped in front of a ballet school near our place. My mother told me: "Let's try a ballet class Chun Wing!" Not knowing what was going on, I felt a bit unsafe. Then when I saw no boy in that school, I started to cry. "No mum! I don't want to try! Let's go home!" I must say that I was very shy at that time. My mum didn't want to give up and kept insisting that I couldn't say I don't like ballet until I tried it. The class almost finished, there were only 15 minutes left......... My mum started to feel annoyed and wanted to give up.
That critical push!
Just before my mother would give up asking me to take that trial lesson, the secretary Miss Ko pushed me into the studio. "Don't be shy! You're wasting your time! Just try!", she said in an annoyed tone. I was then among a lot of little girls and only one other boy. Fortunately, I found that class unexpectedly interesting and fun. I probably enjoyed moving my body with beautiful music very much. That's how my whole ballet journey started!
