Last Saturday, we moved to Bastille and started stage rehearsals for Romeo and Juliet. In the coming week, we will be rehearsing on the stage of Opera Bastille with the costumes and the sets of this beautiful ballet. The photo on the left shows the big studio of Opera Bastille: the Balanchine Studio. It is very spacious but I prefer Garnier's studios because the floors there are easier on our knees, they are "softer", even though they're raked..... It's also warmer in Garnier and dancers feel much better when they are warm while they dance! |
And here's a view from the audience of the last tragic scene of the ballet. Magnificent isn't it?

Chun Wing, thank you for showing these beautiful pictures. I really want to go there and watch this ballet. I guess with the music and the lovely costumes the whole performance will be a total success!
