Back from Geneva!

People may say, "Wow Chun Wing! It must be cool having been to so many places for your galas!"

I won't deny the fact that it's quite cool, but actually, the phrase above should be slightly changed: "Wow Chun Wing! It must be cool having been to so many THEATRES!!"

Haha! I certainly feel very good travelling to different cities for gala performances. These tours, however, are not as many people might imagine. For example this time, we arrived in Geneva from Paris at 13h00, and we left for Paris at 19h00! Right after the show! It has been a very speedy day, it was mostly because many of us had Giselle performance in Paris on Saturday night, and then on Monday. (Given that the gala in Geneva was on Sunday)

So let's talk about Paris Opera's Giselle first, in which I am not dancing but saw their final dress rehearsal.

The performance was breathtaking. I have always loved this ballet. The casting was as follow: Mathieu Ganio (my "petit pere"!) as Albrecht, Myriam Ould-Braham as Giselle, Valentine Colasante as Queen of the Wilis Mrytha.
As I had some spare free tickets for this dress rehearsal, I offered some of my tickets to some hongkongers living in Paris. I think it's a good thing to do, to share ballet with them. I hope that they enjoyed the show.
Here are some photos that I took during Geneva's trip:

This is the theatre where we performed called the BFM. It used to be a factory and now it's transformed into a beautiful theatre.

The stage was a very big one for a gala performance even though it was a bit hard as usual. The space behind the stage was spacious as well. While entering the backstage, we saw sharks in the river!! I had never seen real sharks before!

Even though everything were in a hurry during this trip, I enjoyed it a lot and the performance was successful. The Swiss audience was very warm to us!

Hi, Wing,

How are you?

You might be right stating that you were in many theaters in Europe. I was on a tour to Geneva before, but for sure, I was not in this theater. By the way, very pretty pictures.

Enjoy your summer in Paris!! Have some fun out!!

Cheers,
Winnie

A real shark in Geneva! Wow. I have never heard of such a thing. And the color of the fins in the water is just awing. You must have been amazed!

I can certainly understand that there are not a lot of sightseeing as thought by other people.

Someone probably has transported sharks there. But still they can survive in that cold water?

As you mentioned, you can share some free tickets of Paris Opera's Giselle, Do you still have some available? if the time is right, I wish to bring my daughter to see. But too bad, you are not dansing in the performance. thanks in advance! Hope to see you again soon. Vivienne
